NERF NEWS!! The Maverick Evolution Part 1 out of 4

When someone says the word 'Nerf', the first thing that comes to mind: The iconic Nerf Maverick. The classic gun has GOT to be the most reliable, most used and most common Nerf gun. Featuring a rotating barrel, the Maverick was designed to be the Magnum in Nerf.

At the time when the Maverick was common, the clip system Nerf guns where, unreliable, complicated, expensive and most of all, it jammed a TON! You could fire off a magazine of six bullets and two to five of those shots would jam in the gun, depending on the gun. A Longshot would jam five, even all six of those shots while a Recon would fair better at two to three shots per clip. On the other hand, you could use a Maverick that featured a rotating barrel, great for on-the-go reloading. It's cocking system was simple and a dummy-proof bombshell; It was compact too. Plus the fact that the chance of jamming was as good as the President of the United States of America reading your homework, and you get the best Nerf gun of its time.

Nerf released the Mav in different styles like the White-out (white obviously!), Gear up ( bright orange), Clear( see-through), and sonic ( see-through green). Although the most common one was the yellow-and-black version, the first Maverick was blue!

The Maverick sure had reliability and ease of usage, just like the AK-47, but lacked range and accuracy BADLY!! So Nerf released the first successor( sorta). The Spectre! It sacrificed a slot in the barrel for better accuracy and slightly more range. It also was more silent in cocking. The Spectre REV-5 also could add a barrel and stock extension which came with it in the box.
Honestly, the Spectre wasn't designed for the purpose the Maverick was made for; The Maverick was meant as a back-up that could double as a primary too. The Spectre was more a assassin's weapon: silent, accurate and deadly. Despite this, many still use the Spectre without stock and barrel as a secondary weapon. It had less shots but could hit on target better.

Did the Spectre live up to its predecessor's reputation?

Was it worth its price?

Smarted every day!

Knowledge has been the key to success for centuries. Here are some great ways to acquire them en masse.

1. Go to  http://www.lifehack.org and read! The many awesome articles are bound to keep you engrossed.

2. Wikihow.com is a great site for detailed step-by-step instructions on millions of things from 'how to organise and airsoft war' to ' how to make perfect french toast'. Great for when you are bored; in case you were wondering, we're pretty sure there's instruction on getting bored. One great way to learn something is go to 'explore', then press 'random article'.

3. This one is some what a classic: have an old set of encyclopedia lying in the basement? Go get it; you'll need it. Start from book 'A' and read till 'Z'. Don't skip! You may have already read some parts or even all of it. Great, Now go and re-read it. During your first read you may have forgotten some parts after a few years. For those youngsters who want to be nerds overnight( more like over years), this is probably better than the above cuz it covers EVERYTHING!! You may have to set this as a goal to achieve over five to ten years as you will probably only read 60 pages a week at most. Do not despair if your encyclopedia is from the 1980s. You still will be able to learn cuz some things NEVER change, like history.

If you like this, follow, comment, share, re-share and re-re-share this!
